Salam Aidilfitri!

Aidilfitri 2010 with Mara 1, our last Raya together in Wellington. 

Not sure whether it is because of Ramadhan or because I'm getting older (wiser? hihi), but I am more patient these days. Alhamdulillah. 

Anyway, would like to take this opportunity to wish those who are celebrating:

Selamat hari raya aidilfitri! Maaf zahir dan batin! 

Drive safe, stay safe, enjoy the food and time with loved ones!

I'm hoping that this will be my last time celebrating away from home (and if I have to again, I hope I atleast have a husband by my side with me). InshaaAllah next year, I'd like to be around my family too- it's been too long since we last had a proper raya with everyone in the same place. I'm hoping too, InshaaAllah, that this is my last Ramadhan and Raya as a single woman. I don't know the future and I have no way of seeing/predicting how my future will go, but I hope it will go as planned. Amin.

Ya Allah, permudahkanlah urusanku, Amin.

In two days, I'll be going home for good and I am actually feeling quite sad. It's quite funny because when I came here 10 months ago, I did not like this place at all. It's expensive, it's hard to get around, and I kept comparing it with Wellington and how I wished I was in Wellington instead of Sydney. But slowly, I grew to like living here but now I have to come home. Oh well, that's life I guess. Maybe in the future ada rezeki I get to go somewhere else? InshaaAllah.  I'm so not looking forward to go back to work haha. Can I just be a student forever please?

Hypnobirthing

When I first found out I was pregnant, one of the first people I told was a colleague here in UniKL. Her name is Dr. A. I knew her because we had to attend a meeting together at one of the institutes. We were talking about random stuff when I suddenly told her about my pregnancy (I have no idea why I told her). She told me how much she loves the process of being pregnant and urged me to find out about Hypnobirthing/Gentlebirthing. Alhamdulillah

Just a quick post- I just received back my marks for two of my units. Alhamdulillah, I think I did pretty well. I managed to get a Distinction (which is equivalent to an A grade) for Sociology and Education, which is still a huge surprise for me because I sucked at Sociology during my Alevel years (not even kidding, I used to get Cs all the time and my final result for Sociology for Alevels was also a C). Alhamdulillah a Distiction is more than I had expected so I'm very happy! I was actually very worried about this particular unit because the context is very Australian. All my assignments had to do with the Australian education system so I had to learn it from scratch. The unit also only had three on-campus classes and most of the time we had to do a lot of independent learning and listen to online lectures.
