I think I've mentioned in one of my previous posts about my love for cooking. Thus far, it is the only thing that never fails to make me happy. I love being in the kitchen and I love trying out new recipes. I still have a lot to learn, especially traditional Malay cooking and I absolutely suck at making Italian food. I can't even get instant bolognese to taste right, you know, the ones that you just need to add water? Yeah. I really suck at making Italian food...  To be honest, I actually learned how to cook quite late in life. I was 21 when I started, and it was because I was living on my own in another country. It was expensive to eat out and also it was quite hard to get halal food. So the only option I had was to learn how to cook. I still remember the first meal I made for myself, in that small studio apartment, it was sauteed chicken bits with potatoes and onions, scrambled eggs and rice. I had one plate, one mug, a small rice cooker, and a small induction cook...

Passion. What's yours?

I always think of myself as a very dull person. If people ask me what I do during my free time, I will most probably say "I don't know ay?". I used to like reading, but now I can't even finish a book (no matter how interesting the book is). The only reading I do now is for my courses- journal articles etc.  I think I was into baking for a bit a few years ago. But it got too ' renyah ' for me and I would always end up with a dozen of cupcakes with no one to eat it.  I tried running/jogging, but that did not last.  I don't really watch TV, I don't even own a TV. I do like shopping, but I don't have the money to sustain that hobby. So, what then? What do I like? So after I did some thinking, I came to the conclusion that cooking is the only thing I never got bored of. I really enjoy being in the kitchen trying out new recipes. I'm not an expert or anything, but I do love it a lot. Whenever I'm stressed out wi...

Lazy Saturday

Image
I know I have a lot of work to do, but somehow today, I don't feel like doing any of it. It's Saturday and I think I deserve a break albeit I think I've had too many of these 'breaks' already. Ah well. I made salmon curry today... It was Jo's salmon and I just offered to cook it. Hehehe. So I had it with roti canai just now. I'm a happy girl. Mak and Ayah left this morning :( I felt a bit sad so I texted him. Luckily he was awake so we texted for a bit and it definitely cheered me up a bit. We also skyped for about an hour, yeay! :)  I am actually quite excited about the plans that we made... I know I have no way of knowing what's going to happen in the future...but as for now, I am very happy with how things are. He's very easy to talk to... things are just very simple with him. I hope and pray that he is the one I spend with for the rest of my life... Amin. Anyway, I am too lazy to write...so here are some photos.
